Your guide to the 2026 Caravan and Camping Holiday Supershow

Your guide to the 2026 Caravan and Camping Holiday Supershow

We’re not ashamed to admit that caravan and camping expos are one of our favourite things! There’s something about seeing an entire hall of people who have decided that getting outside, cooking real food and slowing down is worth investing in... It’s our kind of crowd.

The upcoming NSW Caravan and Camping Supershow is the biggest of its kind in the state. Six full days at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse, more than 250 exhibitors and enough to see that you’ll probably need a plan to make the most of it.

Whether you’re all in with caravan life or still in the ‘we’re thinking about it’ stage, it’s worth a trip. Here’s how we’d approach the day to make the most of it.

Prep before you go – it makes a difference

It sounds obvious, but even having a loose plan before you walk in can completely change your experience. The Supershow is big... really big... and decision fatigue hits faster than you’d expect when you’re surrounded by shiny vans and clever gear.

Know your priorities before you go in

Are you researching a new caravan or camper trailer? Maybe looking for practical upgrades to your existing setup or just curious to see what’s out there? Each of those leads you to different parts of the show, and it helps to make some decisions before you go in.

Check out the exhibitor list beforehand (it’ll be on the website a few days before the event) and flag three or four names or categories you don’t want to miss. Don’t forget to note down any live shows or entertainment, then let yourself wander the rest.

Oh, and make sure you’ve got your comfy shoes on, you’ll be getting your steps in!

What to expect on the day

The Supershow covers everything from full-size motorhomes to camp kitchen accessories. You’ll find exhibitors across caravans, camper trailers, campervans, slide-ons, tents, outdoor cooking gear, holiday park operators and more. On the weekend, there’s also a petting zoo and reptile show.

There are often free daily seminars covering topics like towing safety, lithium batteries, and smart travel tips – worth building into your schedule if they're relevant to where you’re at.

Free parking is available at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse, which takes one thing off the list, but the venue is also easily accessible by public transport.

You’ll notice the crowd is a mix of serious buyers, enthusiastic browsers and families who’ve just made a day of it. It’s a good atmosphere, zero pressure, and us exhibitors are there to help answer your questions, not hound you for a sale!

What we actually look for at these expos

Luxury campervans are great (and always a thrill to peek inside), but for most of us, there are loads of smaller finds that are often practical for both home and away.

Gear that’s built to last

Camping can be tough on your gear. Lightweight or low-cost options can look great on the shop shelf but fall apart after a few trips. We always ask about materials first, because how something holds up over time matters more than how pretty the colours are.

Things that earn their space

Space is tight when you’re packing for a trip, so anything that can do more than one job is worth a closer look. A tray that works as a prep surface and a serving board. Containers that move from the fridge straight to the table. Pieces that stack neatly without taking up van real estate.

The everyday essentials

It's often the smaller pieces that shape the day-to-day experience of a trip. Plates and cups that don't crack, chip or absorb smells. Lunchboxes and storage containers that travel well. Simple kitchen tools that make cooking outdoors feel less like a compromise and more like the point. They're not always the headline act at an expo, but they're the things you reach for every single day.

Ease of cleaning

This one is underrated. When you're on the road, you don't want anything that needs special treatment or soaks up stains. Smooth surfaces, simple designs, nothing that needs to be handled carefully. You’re roughing it and your gear needs to follow suit. There are no outdoor kitchen shops in the bush for replacement parts!

Pacing yourself at the Caravan and Camping Supershow

Start with your priority stands. Go there first before the crowds build and before your decision-making starts to blur. Then give yourself permission to wander.

Take photos instead of making snap decisions. Write down prices. Grab brochures and sit with them over lunch before circling back. The best purchases from any expo are the ones you've had a moment to think about – not the ones that felt urgent at the time.

On that note: show specials can be genuinely good, and some of them are legitimately only available at the event. But the urgency can feel bigger than it is when you're in the middle of it. Give anything over a certain price point the "still want it after a coffee?" test. That rule has saved us more than once.

Make sure you enter all the free promotions and competitions – you could win a stack of prizes just for being there.

And take breaks. Sit down, eat something, get off your feet. You'll see more in the second half of the day if you don't try to push through the whole thing in one stretch.

Questions worth asking while you're there

One of the real advantages of being at a show rather than shopping online is being able to ask actual questions and get straight answers. A few that are always worth raising:

  • How does this hold up after a few seasons of use?
  • What do people come back and say about it?
  • Is it easy to clean on the road?
  • What makes this different from the cheaper version on the other stand?
